(ATLANTIC) The Atlantic School Board will discuss Capital Needs at the Work Session tonight.
Atlantic School’s Superintendent Dr. Michael Amstein said with the growing enrollment they are running out of space at Washington Elementary and when that enrollment moves over to Schuler Elementary they are going to quickly run out of space there too.
“Currently we have mobile classroom at Washington Elementary and based on what we believe the enrollment trends will be is that there is a possibility that we might need an additional one there in the fall of 2013,” explained Amstein. “The Board is taking a look at what the options might be, but also when they do that they also need to take a look at what the other Capital Needs of the district might be.”
Amstein said each principle has put together a prioritized list for the School Board to take a look at and consider to see where that fits with their 5-year Capital Needs plan.
The meeting begins at 7:30 pm at the Atlantic High School Media Center. The Capital Needs discussion will follow a closed session.
