(COUNCIL BLUFFS) Enrollment is up at Iowa Western Community College.
Dr. Dan Kinney, President of IWCC, said is seems like every fall they have an enrollment increase and there are several contributing factors.
“What we see is what we call traditional students, which are the recent high school graduates, coming to Iowa Western in increasing numbers and I think we see a lot more students in programs like the Design Technology program that we have in Atlantic and then we also see a lot of students who have determined that they can come to Iowa Western for the first two years of their baccalaureate degree and save a lot of money rather than going directly to a four year institution and paying a lot more money for those first two years,” said Kinney.
Kinney said the enrollment numbers vary by campus, but in total they have 7,323 students this fall. Last fall they had 7,201 students.
