(Atlantic) Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon reminds residents that Cass County remains under a burn ban.
There has been some question lately on whether or not the ban should still be in place and Kennon says officials are monitoring the situation and things are looking better.
“There is becoming less corn in the fields and the grass is greening up in the ditches, “ Kennon said.
The Cass County Fire Chiefs recommended the burn ban on July 20th at 3:00 p.m. Mike Kennon says thanks to the publics’ cooperation it has worked.
“I believe the burn ban has worked, we just haven’t had the fires, and it has raised awareness,” stated Kennon.
Kennon says Cass County Fire Chiefs come to a consensus and decide whether a burn ban should be put in place or lifted.
