(HARLAN) The Fire Danger Rating in Shelby County has been reduced to Moderate.
Shelby County Emergency Management Director Bob Seivert says weather conditions have opened a window of opportunity for those who have been holding off burning piles or CRP ground. Seivert says through Thursday, conditions will be better than they have been for several weeks. After Thursday they are looking at the continuation of the fall drying and dying off of grasslands.
Shelby County Emergency Management is reminding residents to exercise caution with all burns. Your local Fire Chief or Emergency Management Agency can help you determine the best time of day and the safest methods to burn.
