(Atlantic) An arraignment date has been set for 38-year-old Timothy Russell of Cherokee. Russell faces numerous charges in Cass County including attempted murder.
Russell will be arraigned on September 24th, there will be a pre-trial conference on October 15th, and a trial is slated for November 6th.
Russell was originally placed under arrest on Monday, September 3rd for Public Intoxication, Willful Injury, and Assault with Willful Injury. At that point he was taken to the Cass County Jail and released by a magistrate Judge. Russell has since been returned to the Cass County Jail on Attempted Murder Charges and held on $100,000 bond.
According to the initial police report, Russell was asked to leave an Atlantic residence and later returned to that same residence with a hammer and a sharp object, and allegedly assaulted one of the residents with the sharp object injuring the victim.
