(Atlantic) The internationally-acclaimed Harlem Ambassadors are coming to Atlantic in October.
The Atlantic Rotary Club, Super 8 Motel, Deter Motor Company, Brocker Karns and Karns, and J and J Custom Graphic Design are teaming up to give the community something to enjoy.
The Harlem Ambassadors will take on a team called the Atlantic Wannabees on October 2nd. Ted Robinson with the Atlantic Rotary Club explains what spectators will see from the Harlem Ambassadors,
"They are a group of individual players who offer a unique brand of what we call Harlem Style basketball, their should be a lot of high flying slam dunks, some cool ball handling tricks, and some funny comedy routines."
The Ambassadors also work extensively with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and American Red Cross.
In addition to the entertainment at the Atlantic High School that night, the Harlem Ambassadors will speak to students at the Atlantic Middle School during the day.
“A stay in school, stay off drugs assembly program. Basically this progam encourages kids to work hard in school. Respect themselves, their peers, and adults. It talks about believing in themselves, setting goals and focus on their education so they can achieve their goals. I think this will be a real nice and send a positive message to the kids.”
Tickets are available in advance at First Whitney Bank, Rolling Hills Bank, Brocker Karns and Karns, and from any local Atlantic Rotarian. They will also be available at the door. The big game between the Harlem Ambassadors and the Atlantic Wannabees tips off at 7:00 at the Atlantic High School on Tuesday, October 2nd.
