(HARLAN) Two people were sent to the hospital following a three vehicle accident in Harlan Tuesday.
The Harlan Police Department says a 2010 Dodge, driven by Austin Warrior of Kirkman, was southbound on 7th Street when Warrior stopped in a no parking zone to allow a passenger to exit the vehicle. A second vehicle, a 2002 Pontiac driven by Mary Grote of Harlan, stopped behind Warrior’s vehicle. And the third vehicle, a 2012 Kenworth owned by Atlantic Bottling Company and driven by Todd Nielsen of Exira, did not notice that the two vehicles had stopped and struck the rear of Grote’s vehicle causing it to move forward and strike the rear of Warrior’s vehicle.
Mary Grote and a passenger from Warrior’s vehicle were transported by Medivac Ambulance to Myrtue Medical Center.
Warrior was cited for parking contrary to signs. Nielsen was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
