(Atlantic) A new bus loading zone ordinance goes into effect immediately by the Ann Wickman Center in Atlantic.
City Councilman Chris Jimmerson says there was no objection from the majority of the neighbors affected by the no parking ordinance.“I spoke to two of the three neighbors and they are fine with it.”
The Atlantic City Council pushed through the ordinance on a second and third reading Wednesday night prohibiting parking across the street from the bus loading zone for 100-feet in the 700 block of Linn Street from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. or only when school is in session.
“Ordinarily I would say don’t rush things, but since this has direct impact on school busing and safety issues and since the neighbors have been notified I am fine with suspending the rules and passing this on the second and third readings tonight,” Stated Atlantic City Council Shawn Shouse.
Atlantic Police Chief Steve Green and School Bus Superintendent Dave Eckles brought this request to the City Council to address traffic and safety concerns related to a bus loading zone by the Ann Wickman Center.
