(Council Bluffs) A former Harlan Church Youth Coordinator has been jailed in a case of sexual assault.
KETV7news says 68-year-old Bobby Ervin Smith, is charged with three counts of third-degree sexual assault. According to court documents, Smith lived in Harlan in 1998.
The alleged victim, who was 12-years-old at the time, alleges that Smith was his youth coordinator at First Baptist Church and that Smith assaulted him during a fishing trip. Smith and his family moved to Missouri in 2008.
Smith is scheduled for a court appearance in November. If he is convicted on all charges, he could face 30-years in prison.
