(Exira) Four people were hurt in a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon north of Exira.
The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 5:15 p.m. on Highway 71 near 280th Street north of Exira. According to the report, 49-year-old Julieanne Marie Knutsen, of Audubon was northbound on Highway 71 when the vehicle drifted on the northbound shoulder of the road. All four tires were on the shoulder when she attempted to steer it back onto the pavement. Knutsen overcorrected and lost control of the 2006 Chevy Equinox which rolled three times and landed on its wheels facing south in the east ditch.
Knutsen, along with passengers, 19-year-old Tanner Lyn Knutsen, and 16-year-old Taylor Marie Knutsen, both of Audubon, and 26-year-old Todd Cooley, of Emmetsburg were all transported by Exira Fire and Rescue to the Audubon County Memorial Hospital.
Knutsen was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
The Equinox sustained $10,000 damage.
