(ATLANTIC) An Atlantic business is celebrating its 30th anniversary this weekend.
Mary Murphy, owner of Nishna Valley Cycle, located at 2500 E. 7th Street, said they opened for business in 1982.
“We started out across from where K-Mart used to be and then in 1989 we moved out here and we had half the building then and then we added-on later on,” said Murphy. “We enjoy doing a lot of the riding and that type of stuff and helping the community.
Murphy added, “Two years ago we took on a partner, Rob Thornton, so he’s been helping us so we can kind of kick back a little bit and Dennis and I don’t have to be here quite so much.”
The 30th Anniversary celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Team FMX will put on two 30 minute shows at noon and 2:00 p.m. Autograph sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Sign in for the Poker Run is at 9:00 a.m. and the ride starts at 10:00 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 1:30 p.m. First place prize is $100 cash, 2nd place a $75 gift certificate and 3rd place a $50 gift certificate.
The Bikini Bike Wash will be held from noon to 3 p.m.
And, a free pork sandwich and coke luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to whenever the food runs out.
Nishna Valley Cycle sells a wide variety of items, including; ATV’s, Street and Dirt Bikes, Golf Carts, Power Equipment, Golf Carts and Accessories.
