(Atlantic) Cass County Relay for Life participants enjoyed great weather Friday night at the High School Track. Event Chairman Carol Schuler says a little over $68,800.00 was raised with more money coming in.
"Number one God made the weather perfect, it was a beautiful night to be outside," stated Schuler. "We had over 100-surviors that walked the lap and many survivors just sat and watched an applauded for everybody else. There were around 400-500 walkers who walked the track throughout the evening raising funds for the American Cancer Society."
The event started off at 8:00 am., with a tractor ride, Windbags sponsored a motorcycle ride at 11:30 a.m., the Survivor’s dinner got underway at 4:30 p.m., and the Survivor’s Walk kicked off the events at the track at 6:00 p.m.
All the money raised from this 13th annual event goes toward Cancer research.
