(Hamburg) Fremont County authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a Missouri man, they believe is connected to a bank robbery in Hamburg.
The warrant is for 47-year-old Nathan Wayne Smith, of Lexington, Missouri. The warrant follows a joint investigation by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and the Omaha FBI Office who believe Smith is the man responsible for the June 11 Great Western Bank robbery in Hamburg.
Smith is described as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5-6, to 5-8, inches tall, and 175 pounds. On the day of the crime, Smith was wearing a white visor, aviator-style sunglasses, a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shows. The suspect, who did not show a weapon, fled on foot, and could have been driving a green mid-90’s four-door Cadillac with a tan vinyl roof.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, (1-800-432-9210), or the FBI Office in Omaha, (1-402-493-8688).
