(DES MOINES) There are farmers in some parts of Iowa who are paying very close attention to what ISU Climatologist Elwynn Taylor has to say about the dry conditions.
Taylor says there was a “swath” of Iowa that picked up four inches of badly needed rain Wednesday night, but unfortunately that was rare.
“But, for the most part, the number of people that have gotten one inch to two inches would be half of the counties in the state,” said Taylor.
He says extreme northwest and extreme southwest Iowa only got a few drops. Taylor says while the cooler daytime temperatures are pleasant, there’s less humidity right now, and we need muggy conditions, mainly because we need the moisture.
