(HANCOCK) A Hancock man was injured in a single vehicle accident in Pottawattamie County Thursday night.
Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker said at around 10:20 p.m., Darren Jacobsen was driving southbound on Highway 59 when the accident occurred near the cemetery.
“The F250 Ford pickup left the roadway, went through the fence into the cemetery and then out the other fence parallel to Mahogany, the vehicle came to rest in the north ditch of Mahogany,” explained Danker.
Danker said alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
“We do the injuries and the test will be done on Mr. Jacobsen’s blood, but we do not have the results right now,” said Danker.
Danker said Jacobsen was transported to Mercy Hospital by Oakland Rescue to be treated for injuries. Jacobsen was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
