(Council Bluffs) Council Bluffs Police say more than $40,000 worth of copper and tools were stolen from two job sites in separate incidents Thursday.
Police say thieves took 5,000 to 10,000 pounds of copper from Jack Maitland Contracting valued at $30,000. The copper was in a shipping container that was broken into at 202 29th Avenue. The incident happened sometime between 5:00 p.m. May 25 and 7:00 a.m. the following day.
In a separate incident, $11,000 worth of copper wire and tools were stolen from the E & I Specialist Inc. construction site at 6401 Gifford Road between 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and 7:00 a.m. Thursday.
