(AUDUBON/COUNCIL BLUFFS) Two opportunities will be available to drop off unwanted prescription drugs in Southwest Iowa on April 28th.
New Opportunities and Audubon Law Enforcement are taking back expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 326 Leroy Street in Audubon from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pottawattamie County Operation Medicine Cabinet will be held at the Council Bluffs Walgreen’s, 535 East Broadway, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Both opportunities are free, no questions asked.
Last October, Americans turned in 377,080 pounds of prescription drugs at over 5,300 sites operated by the DEA and nearly 4,000 state and local law enforcement partners. This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.
