(RALSTON) Four area high school students have been named recipients of West Central’s Excellence in Agriculture scholarship program. This year’s recipients include Clara Lauritsen of Exira, Taylor Lewis of Audubon, Adam Hoskins of Jefferson and Brian Dentlinger of Arcadia.
Since 1996, West Central has been assisting area high school seniors interested in pursuing an education in an agriculture related field. The assistance comes by way of West Central’s Excellence in Agriculture scholarship program. This year, $6,000 in scholarship money will be awarded to area students. The program is open to students, entering an agricultural field of study, who are – or have parents that are – voting members of West Central. Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
This year’s recipients will each receive a $1,500 scholarship to the post-secondary institution of their choice. Both Lewis and Lauritsen are seniors at Audubon High School, Hoskins is currently a senior at Jefferson-Scranton High School, and Dentlinger a senior at Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll.
