(Dexter) A man in is custody in connection with the death of the body found in Guthrie County Saturday morning.
According to a DCI press release, 21-year-old Mike Beeler, of Menlo faces charges of Vehicular Homicide due to intoxication, Vehicular Homicide due to recklessness, and leaving the scene of a fatality accident, Criminal mischief, and 1st offense OWI.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office was called out at around 4:30 a.m. Saturday to 3448 330th trail in reference to a deceased white male lying in the gravel road in front of his residence. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Justin Westfall, of Menlo.
Authorities say during a party at the residence located at 3448 330th Trail in Dexter, Westfall was run over by a tractor driven by Beeler.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol and the Stuart Police Department.
Mike Beeler is being held on $25,000 cash bond.
