(DES MOINES) Be ready for some nasty weather! That’s the message from Kevin Skow with the National Weather Service in Des Moines.
Skow says overnight there may be a few stray thunderstorms across Southwest Iowa, but the biggest threat for severe weather looks to be tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.
“We have a dry line coming out of Nebraska that will ignite some super cell thunderstorms which could very well produce some large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes,” explained Skow. “The biggest threat looks to be across eastern Nebraska and far Western Iowa at this point.”
Skow said the system will lift out of the area quite quickly and the threat for severe weather will be gone by Sunday.
