(ESSEX) Two people were transported to the hospital following a rollover accident in Page County this (Friday) morning.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office says at around 5:25 a.m. a Deputy responded to the accident one mile north of the Imogene corner on Highway 59 where a Jeep Cherokee was overturned in the east ditch. A passenger, 50-year-old Donna Riggs, of Walnut, stated she was asleep and did not see what happened. The driver, 48-year-old Keith Vickers, of St. Joseph, Missouri, stated that he had dozed off and when he opened his eyes he was headed down the ditch. The vehicle missed the curve to the west on the highway and entered the eastbound ditch. Vickers tried to correct his error and turned the steering wheel to the roadway. The vehicle rolled three times, coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Riggs and Vickers were both transported to the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital by Essex Rescue.
