(Audubon) A public hearing has been set in Audubon County for the re-classification of various rural roads. The hearing will be held Tuesday morning.
County Engineer Mitch Rydl tells KSOM/KS95.7 news that nine roads are on the list for vacation or re-classification.
“We have a various number of dirt roads, level ‘B’, that we are going to make level ‘C’ down in the Exira township area.”
Most of the re-classifications have been requested by the land owners. It was also brought to the attention of the board of supervisors that the Right of Way ordinance needs to be more strictly followed. Supervisors Chairman Todd Nelsen says anytime you are doing work in the ditches you need to make sure you are in compliance with the Right of Way ordinance. Nelson says that grazing and electric fences are prohibited under the Right of Way ordinance.
