(Des Moines) They are being touted as the Lucky 8 as overnight towns were announced last night for the 40th annual RAGBRAI event.
According to the Des Moines Register, this year’s route starts in Sioux Center and includes overnight towns of Cherokee, Lake View, Webster City, Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids, Anamosa, and finally arriving in Clinton to finish things off.
RAGBRAI officials say that the ride brings riders from around the world and introduces them to the hospitality and culture of Iowa. It also brings $24 million in new spending to the state. Officials also say there is no word yet if Tour de France winners Lance Armstrong or Greg Lamond will participate this year.
