(Atlantic) The Iowa State Patrol responded to a rollover accident on Interstate 80 Sunday morning where multiple occupants were ejected from an eastbound van.
According to witnesses, 8-subjects fled the scene on foot following the accident that occurred at around 8:35 near the Highway 71 exit northeast of Atlantic. Two of the occupants were remained on the scene with serious injuries, including head trauma, and paralysis. After a short search 6-subjects were found and transported to Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic for treatment. Two subjects were able to secure a taxi for service to Council Bluffs.
Immigration Custom Enforcement agents were contacted and interviewed all six subjects and found them to be illegal immigrant’s heading to New Jersey. The two subjects at-large in Council Bluffs were transporting the 8-subjects to New Jersey to secure employment. All six subjects at the Cass County Memorial Hospital were turned over to Immigration
