(Des Moines) The Internal Revenue Service says they are now accepting electronic returns for 2011 taxes.
For filers of any income the IRS has free File Fillable Forms, which are electronic versions of paper forms. For individual families with less than $57,000 in adjusted gross income, the Internal Revenue Service's Free File program lets you use software companies tax preparations programs for free.
Officials say in a press release that electronic tax treturns are more accurate than paper forms because the software checks the math. Last year, more than 112 million tax returns, or 77-percent of all individual returns, were "e-filed."
