(Atlantic) The Atlantic Municipal Utilities Board of Trustees has named a new General Manager to succeed the retiring Allen Bonderman.
On Monday, the Board of Trustees named Steve Tjepkes as General Manager after working eighteen years as the Utilities comptroller.
“I am humbled and excited about the opportunity,” stated Tjepkes. “AMU is a great organization and for the board of trustees to have the confidence in me to lead the organization I am very appreciative, and excited about the opportunity.”
His responsibilities included overseeing all financial operations, including billing, collections and accounting as well as customer service functions. As chief financial officer for the organization Steve has worked closely with the two previous GM’s.
Tjepkes is a graduate of UNI and is Certified Public Accountant. Steve and his wife Julie are longtime residents of Atlantic, and both are extremely active in their church and various community organizations.
Allen Bonderman’s last day on the job will be March 31, 2012.
