(Audubon) The Audubon City Council is researching an ordinance that would prohibit vehicles from parking in front yards within city limits.
In December, Councilman John Wetzel presented several pictures backing his concern that too many vehicles were being parked in front and back yards throughout the city. Wetzel asked the council to consider an ordinance banning this. On Monday night, the council decided to do some further research an ordinance that would prohibit vehicle parking in front yards only.
In other business, Audubon City Attorney Lance Levis appeared before the Council to answer questions in regards to compensation practices. Levis says under the federal compensation laws the city has the final say on how many hours are banked and if and when compensation should be paid out.
He also stated that there is no federal regulation regarding sick or vacation leave. That decision is left up to the city.
The Audubon City Council will hold their next regular scheduled meeting on January 23, at 7:00 at City Hall.
