(Atlantic) The Atlantic News Telegraph announced today that Jeff Lundquist has been hired as the new publisher effective January 1. Lundquist replaces Connie Collins who announced her retirement earlier this year.
“It is exciting,” stated Lundquist. “It is going to be a little different for me because typically publishers come from the advertising side and I am coming from the editorial side.” Lundquist says Connie Collins is staying to help him through the transition.
“The staff has been great and everyone has been very supportive,” adds Lundquist. “They have good attitudes and it is making the transition so much easier than it could have been.”
Jeff Lundquist has worked for the Atlantic News Telegraph since 1998. He was born in Cherokee, Iowa, and grew up in California and went to college at Humbolt State University in Northern California. He returned to Iowa in 1990 to help on the family farm in Cherokee and began working for the Cherokee Daily Times shortly after that. Lundquist worked as a reporter and eventually took over the editors position at the then five-day a week paper.
The Atlantic News Telegraph is a daily newspaper with a circulation of around 2500 papers per day. Lundquist will continue his duties as managing editor.
