(Audubon) The Audubon City Council voted 3-2 Tuesday night to give all city employees a three-percent raise. That is compared to a $400 raise each city employee received one year ago.
The three council members voting for the 3-percent increase were Dwight Borkowski, Teresa Murray and Andy Griffith. The three council members against the raise were Robert Jacobsen and John Wetzel. Both councilmen wanted to wait until they found out what the city’s health insurance costs were going to be. The raise will go into effect July 1, 2012.
In other activity, Councilman Wetzel voiced concern in regards to cars being parked in yards throughout the city. Wetzel presented several pictures of these vehicles being parked in front and back yards at several residents. Wetzel asked the council to consider passing some sort of ordinance keeping the vehicles on the streets.
The next Audubon city council meeting is slated for January 9, 2012.
