(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday and one of the items on the agenda included the Re-Codifying of Ordinances.
"We did a little changing to the construction permit language in the zoning ordinance to provide information to the various county departments for planning purposes and also to spell out those requirements so everyone gets handled consistenly.”
Supervisor chair Todd Nelsen explains that building permits are needed even for agricultural use buildings.
"An ag use building in an ag area is exempt from zoning but not exempt from the county wanting to have a building permit on it so it can be used for the various departments for the planning. If we get a system in place so that we handle everyone the same consistently is the goal.”
Again building permits are required on all buildings even if the building is exempt from zoning. Permits are necessary to provide information to the various county departments for planning purposes.
