(MINDEN) A 2003 Peterbilt semi tractor trailer struck a house in Minden this morning.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office says at around 7:18 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 210 Lincoln Street in Minden where the semi had left County Road L-66 on the east side of the roadway and collided into the front of the residence. The driver of the semi was unresponsive when the caller contacted 911. The driver’s brother arrived on scene and began CPR before Minden Rescue arrived. Upon Minden’s arrival, rescue personnel continued CPR.
The driver, identified as 53-year-old Calvin Leaders of Underwood, was transported to Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:18 a.m. Pottawattamie County Medical Investigators will schedule an autopsy to assist in the investigation as to possible health complications being a contributing factor to the accident.
The semi tractor trailer is owned by Charles M. Leaders Trucking. The damage to the semi was estimated at $30,000. The damage to the residence was $10,000. No one was at the residence at the time of the accident.
