(HARLAN) Time is running out for Shelby County employees to participate in a health insurance incentive that would save the county around $45,000 in insurance premiums.
According to the Harlan Tribune, Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, in cooperation with the Iowa Association of Counties, is offering the incentive. Employees are provided free physicals and health assessments and with the completion of the physical they will receive a $250 gift card.
There are only three weeks left in the program and only 58 percent have participated. If the county gets 90 percent participation, they will save five percent on its health insurance premium next year.
