(Atlantic) The Cass County Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign is doing quite well this holiday season. Teresa Kanning Co-Chair of the Cass County Salavation Army Bell Ringing Unit says donations are slighlty ahead of last year at this time. To date the Cass County Bell Ringing Unit has raised over $4,600.00.
"What I am hearing from bell ringers, it has been a very good year and alot of people are giving local because they know the money stays here," stated Kanning.
Kanning and Co-Chair Atlantic Police Chief Steve Green have implemented several projects and a few new ones as well. Some of those donations include backpacks to the various schools for families in need, car seat donations to the parents as teachers organization to help them with their push to have safe car seats for all children. And some of the money has been donated to the "Shop with the Cops," program.
"Thanks to the generosity of the people, we have been able to do some new projects," Said Kanning.
The Cass County Bell Ringing project will continue through Christmas. If you would like to be a bell ringer here in Cass County contact Duane McFadden.
