(Washington D.C.) The U.S. Postal Service is delaying the closings or consolidations of 252 mail processing centers and 3,700 local post offices until May 15.
Among those targeted in Southwest Iowa are Kimballton, Lewis, Grant and Cumberland Post Offices just to name a few.
In a statement, the cash-strapped Postal Service says it would delay the closings to give Congress more time to pass legislation giving more authority and liquidity to stave off bankruptcy.
