(Harlan) The Harlan Tribune says Harlan Community Schools is seeing a decline in enrollment this school year. That trend is expected to continue over the next 10-years, which could limit the amount of money the district will receive from the state for student enrollment.
According to the Iowa Department of Education’s statewide Census conducted the first week in October there were 54.33 fewer students than last year when the district counted 1,475.1 students. This means about $312,000 less for the school District.
School Districts receive around $5,900 for each student enrolled in a school district.
