(Atlantic) The fate of the Behavioral Unit at the Cass County Memorial Hospital will be decided Wednesday morning at the CCMH Board of Trustees meeting.
The fiscal year 2011 audit report showed the unit had milked $505,000 from the hospital revenue in 2010, and showed a $344,000 loss in 2011.
The options include eliminating the unit or downsizing it from 8-to-4 beds. The smaller facility would be relocated in the Special Care unit after remodeling. Officials have stated that downsizing it would still cost the hospital $250,000.
The meeting is slated for 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, in Conference Room one.
