(Atlantic) Two Atlantic bridges are now part of the Iowa Flood Center’s monitoring program. Atlantic City Administrator Doug Harris says the East Nishnabotna River and Troublesome Creek are currently two of fifty bridges across the state that received these monitors.
“Now you can go on their website during a heavy rain event and find out where the rivers are at,” stated Harris. “So it just helps farmers and others know when the river is close to flood stage, close to flood stage, and over flood stage.”
Harris says residents and media can log onto www.iowafloodcenter.org. to find out the status of the river during a heavy rain event.
