(CORNING) Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative’s warehouse was broken into this morning.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, it is believed a subject(s) parked approximately ½ mile away on a gravel road and walked to the warehouse where the subject(s) pried into the back door. Once inside, they had taken two rolls of solid #6 wire, two rolls of #6 stranded wire and two rolls of #4 stranded wire. The approximate value of the wire is totaled at $2,118.
The subject(s) also stole a white 2010 Dodge Ram 2500. The REC’s employee’s work bags had been thrown from the back onto the floor. The subject(s) then drove the vehicle back down the road and unloaded the wire and left the vehicle parked on the side of the road. No damage was found on the REC vehicle.
A further inventory is being conducted for any missing material not accounted for. If anyone has any information regarding this case, contact Chief Deputy Miller at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 641-322-4444.
