(Audubon) A wind energy project has begun in the southeast corner of Audubon County.
“Before the snow arrived over the weekend, contractors were putting in field entrance pipes and working on access roads.” Said County Engineer Mitch Rydl.
The county is investigating the possibility of Tax Increment Financing, which Rydl says would help improve the counties roadways. “Hopefully we can generate some money with this, to help build our roads and get them in better condition.”
There are around 80 wind towers currently under construction in Guthrie County and approximately 23 towers going up in southeastern Audubon County.
