(Villisca) The future of the Villisca school districts remains under discussion.
The Villisca School Board will meet jointly with the Stanton School Board tonight at 7:00 p.m. to present a possible academic sharing agreement. Monday night, the Villisca and Corning School Boards released their plans for whole-grade sharing.
“At that meeting Corning presented a proposal to house the 9-12 in Corning and the 6-8 grade in Villisca,” stated Villisca Superintendent Willie Stone. “A response to this proposal is due before noon on December 7.”
The three districts have shown interest in whole-grade sharing. The plan must be submitted to the state by February 1, to be activated next school year.
The meeting tonight is at the Villisca High School.
