(GRISWOLD) The Griswold School Board discussed redistricting the Board of Director Districts at their meeting Monday night.
Griswold Superintendent Dana Kunze says after every census School Boards have the opportunity to reconfigure itself. He said currently they have seven districts with a Board member from each district and he said they could look into moving more positions to “At Large”.
“I think the Board is looking to perhaps make an adjustment on that, probably stick with seven Board members, they like that configuration, but we may take a look at going to some At Large positions just because it’s getting harder and harder to recruit folks to run for School Board,” said Kunze.
In other news, the school board appointed a new board member at their meeting last night. Kunze said they had a member pass away last month and last night was the last opportunity to appoint that position without having a special election. Kunze said Rob Peterson was appointed by the Board.
