(Atlantic) 2011 was a good summer financially for the Atlantic Municipal Swimming Pool. Atlantic Park and REC Director Roger Herring says the pool generated $10,000 more this past summer than in 2010. Herring says RAGBRAI was one big contributing factor.
“RAGBRAI brought in $7,000.00 in one day,” stated Herring, adding the increased rates also helped generate some additional cash. “Family passes were increased from $75.00 to $105.00, and the daily rates increased from $3.00 to $4.00 for children, and $4.00 to $5.00 for adults, so we were able to generate some additional revenue there.”
Herring also notes that the pool had virtually no break downs during the 2011 swimming season significantly cutting maintenance costs.
In 2010 the pool cost the city $41,100.00. In 2011 the cost to the city was $27,986.00. Total revenues in 2010, were $23,414.00. Total Revenues in 2011 added up to $35,400.00.
