(Atlantic) The Atlantic Police Department continues to investigate the bomb threat at the Atlantic Middle School Thursday morning. It was the second bomb threat in two weeks. Lt. Dave Erickson is leading the investigation.
"It about 8:20 a.m. we received a call from the middle school principal of another bomb threat and when we arrived there was one in the same bathroom as the last time," stated Erickson. "The note said they were going to blow up the middle school and the YMCA at 11:45. We contacted the authorities and it wasn't a credible threat but we still swept the building and got the kids out of the school, and evacuated the Y."
Lt. Erickson says the incident is still under investigation and when they catch the person that did this he will be charged with terrorism, which is a Class B felony.
"I'll catch him, we are not going to let it get away," said Lt. Erickson.
Police interviewed one suspect, but he has been ruled out as a suspect.
