(Oakland) Oakland residents turned down a recreation tax, that would have accessed $4.00 per month to their utility bill.
The measure would have generated enough funds to make improvements to the swimming pool, city parks and trail systems. However, Oakland residents turned down the measure 121-79.
The passage of the public measure would have also allowed Oakland residents with utility accounts within city limits entry into the swimming pool at no admission charge.
The measure would have been re-evaluated after four years, to review its' effectiveness.
