(Atlantic) A retired teacher and coach will fill the Cass County Board of Supervisor’s District 2 seat.
Gaylord Schelling longtime teacher and head football gathered 170-votes, Donald Lappe received 150-votes, Pat McCurdy 99, Kathy Somers, 77, and Jeff Richter received 11-votes, in a special election held Tuesday.
“I appreciate all the people that supported me with this and took time to help and I hope I can help Cass County continue to be a great place to live," stated Schelling.
Gaylord Schelling was nominated by the Republican County Convention to fill the seat left vacant after Chuck Kinen’s death. However, following the party convention the four other candidates filed petitions to run.
