(Sidney) A Page County woman will serve two-ten year prison terms in connection with the death of the two Cumberland boys in a two vehicle accident south of Red Oak nearly one year ago.
On November 28th, 2010, 19-year-old Karli Jo Brown was driving southbound on Highway 48 south of Red Oak and attempted to pass two vehicles up a hill in a no-passing zone and collided with a vehicle driven by Nina McNeese of Cumberland.
McNeese’s two sons, 4-year-old Alex Todd and 5-year-old Maliki Todd, were both killed in the accident. Nina McNeese suffered serious injuries. Brown had been driving at a high rate of speed and was texting on her phone when the accident happened.
Nineteen-year-old Karli Jo Brown, had plead guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide in September. Monday, she was sentenced to serve the two- ten year terms concurrently. She was also ordered to pay restitution, however the amount was not determined.
