(Cumberland) The Cumberland Post Office is on the list for closure, and a meeting is set for Monday, November 14, at 6:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Building to discuss the issue with U.S. Postal Representatives. Bob Rodgers, of Cumberland is a spokesperson for this event and he is asking the public to attend this meeting to help avoid this closing.
"We are hoping for a good crowd that will ask alot of questions, and explain how they will be inconvenienced," stated Rodgers.
There is also a petition against this closing located at the Cumberland Telephone Office, 21st Century Coop, Cumberland City Hall and Cumberland Library. Rodgers says copies of this petition will be sent to the Postal Service, and Representatives King and Boswell, as well as Senators Grassley and Harkin.
The meeting will be held Monday, November 14, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cumberland Community Building. Bob Rodgers emphasizes that a good turnout is one of the factors that could stop the closing of the post office.
