(Atlantic) The 2011 HMA Paving and Storm Sewer Improvement Project continues today in Atlantic. The project was expected to resume on Friday, but because of the cold weather continues the project was postponed a few days.
"Instead of starting last Friday they are starting today and we will be working on those streets today and tommorrow," stated Atlantic City Administrator Doug Harris. "The reason for the delay was because it turned cool last Friday. You don't want to put down the hot mix asphalt when the temperatire gets below 45-degrees."
The paving project that is underway at the following streets; 13th Street between Chestnut and Elm, Poplar Street between 8th and 10th, Walnut Street between 8th and 10th, and Redwood Drive between 14th and 17th.
"Those projects should be complete tommorrow," said Harris. "The one project that concerns me is a Ridge Road and Bryn Mawr, because there is some storm sewer that has to go in there, as well as the milling and overlay. Everyone knows how unpredictable the November weather can be.
