(Brayton) An Audubon County teenager was killed in a two-vehicle crash north of Brayton Wednesday night. Three people were injured in the accident that occurred at around 11:35 p.m. on Highway 71 north of Brayton.
The Iowa State Patrol says 17-year-old Kristopher George Crawley, of Hamlin, died at at the Cass County Memorial Hospital following the crash. The three injured include; 22-year-old Jason Rattenborg, of Audubon, 55-year-old Kendall Lee Ware, of Lineville, Iowa, and Mark Anthony Piearson, of Leon, Iowa. Exira Rescue transported Rattenborg and Ware to the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Exira Rescue transported Piearson to the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon.
The Iowa State Patrol says Jason Rattenborg was driving a Jeep Cherokee northbound on Highway 71 just north of Brayton and collided near the centerline with a southbound Chevy pickup driven by Kendall Lee Ware. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch.
The accident remains under investigation.
