(Glenwood) A Mills County teenager died in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning. Three others were injured in the crash.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 11:55 a.m. near 21218 Ellington Avenue. Timothy Scott Mahan, of Council Bluffs was driving westbound on Ellington, which is a gravel road. According to the report, Mahan topped the hill at an excessive speed and lost control of the vehicle. The 2002 Jeep carrying four occupants entered the ditch and rolled several times ejecting all four passengers.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 19-year-old Chance Erik Gunderson was killed in the crash. The injured are identified as; 23-year-old Felicia Marie Hansen, of Council Bluffs, 19-year-old Jacob Alan Wahle, of Glenwood, and 21-year-old Timothy Scott Mahan, of Council Bluffs. Glenwood Rescue transported all three to Creighton Medical Center.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Mills County Sheriff’s Office.
